Happyforms < 1.26.3 – Admin+ Stored XSS | CVE 2024-10054 | Plugin Vulnerabilities

Description

The plugin does not sanitise and escape some of its settings, which could allow high privilege users such as admin to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed (for example in multisite setup).

Proof of Concept

1. Add a new form
2. In the form settings under "Messages", change the value of "Form can’t be submitted" to: `das"><script>alert(2)</script>`
3. Add the form to a page or post 
4. When the submit button on the form is clicked, the XSS payload will fire
