Royal Elementor Addons < 1.7.1063 – Unauthenticated Private Mega Menu Template Disclosure | CVE 2026-13402

Description

The plugin does not check the post status of menu items or the templates they reference in one of its REST endpoints, allowing unauthenticated users to retrieve the rendered HTML content of private or draft Elementor templates linked from non-public navigation menu items.

Proof of Concept

Prerequisites (normal admin usage of the Mega Menu feature):
1. As an administrator, create an Elementor template (Templates > Saved Templates, or a Royal Mega Menu template) and leave it as a Draft or set it to Private. Put some non-public text in it so the disclosure is visible.
2. Create/edit a navigation menu, enable Royal's Mega Menu on a menu item, and point it at the template from step 1 (the menu item may itself be a draft). This sets the "wpr-mega-menu-item" meta on the nav_menu_item to the template ID.

Exploit (unauthenticated, no cookie/nonce):
The REST route GET /wpraddons/v1/wprmegamenu/ (permission_callback __return_true) renders the Elementor template referenced by the menu item's "wpr-mega-menu-item" meta without checking the post status of either the menu item or the template. Enumerate small integer item_id values until one resolves to a mega-menu nav_menu_item:

Result on <= 1.7.1062 (vulnerable):
  HTTP/1.1 200 OK
  Body: the fully rendered Elementor HTML of the linked private/draft template (the non-public text from step 1).

Expected on 1.7.1063 and later (fixed):
  HTTP/1.1 403   for any non-published menu item or template.
